Steamed European Beech is a sustainably forested temperate hardwood originating in eastern Germany and grown on land that has been actively managed for over two centuries. This 'Green' wood in quickly capturing favor in the US market due to its excellent mechanical and working properties, and its ability to be stained easily to immitate virtually any of the common hardwoods, specifically Cherry, Mahogany, and Walnut.European Beech is considerably more dense than its American counterpart, offers vastly superior color and consistancy of color and has a higher density and improved stability than American Beech. It is more dense than red oak, as stable as Cherry, and as affordable as Maple. European Beech is PEFC and SFI certified as a sustainably forested product.
