About Random Width Plank Flooring:
Historically hardwood flooring was made from the lumber available to the carpenter, since hardwood lumber is normally cut for yield and not specific dimensions boards will range in widths. Early craftsmen made the most of this precious resource by simply squaring up then grooving the boards and laying them down in a random pattern. This look truly brings the feel of a custom job to any floor and is a great compliment for a hand scraped floor. The hand scraped collection is shipped as a random width product consisting of 3-1/4", 5", and 7" wide boards. The quantity of each will vary but usually the 5" is the most prevalent width followed by the 3-1/4" then 7". It is recommended that these floors be laid in a random pattern without repetition.
Should you desire a fixed pattern (3,5,7,3,5,7,etc) you will need to order your flooring on an equal lineal footage basis. Please call us to discuss your project and we can assist you in determining the proper quantities and provide you with a quote for an equal lineal floor.
